São Lourenço

Leaving the Dois Irmãos bay, after a few minutes’ walk northwards, we find São Lourenço beach, situated in a large bay, around 1.2 km in width. Close to its centre, around 300 metres from the beach, is the last of the waves that form part of the Reserve.

These right handers break on a rocky plateau, forming quick waves with a high mass of water, as the peak is located at a considerable distance from the beach. The São Lourenço wave is normally surfed at mid-tide and requires N/NO swells, associated with wind from the east quadrant.
